Sustainability

Our commitment to sustainability.

Jervois Finland adheres to Jervois Global corporate governance policies as well as the Organisation for Economic and Co-operation Development (OECD) Guidelines for Responsible Supply Chain of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.

Our corporate policies include our Principles of Business Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct as well as sustainability policies and programs, including, but not limited to, Safety and Health, Environmental, Social Performance and Responsible Sourcing of Minerals.

Our Human Rights policy outlines our commitment to recognizing, respecting and promoting human rights wherever we do business and requires us to conduct business in a manner consistent with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Jervois Finland is committed to producing chemicals from responsibly sourced cobalt.

We are the first cobalt chemical company to achieve Conformant Cobalt Downstream Facility status through the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI)’s Downstream Assessment Program (DAP).

The RMI developed the Downstream Assessment Program to assess downstream companies within the cobalt or tin, tantalum, tungsten and old (3TGs) supply chains. It uses third-party auditors to independently assess and verify that companies have systems in place to responsibly source minerals in alignment with OECD Guidelines for Responsible Supply Chain of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.

This program is solely for downstream companies that do not meet the definition of a smelter or refiner. Jervois Finland’s conformance status is publicly listed on RMI’s website.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, Jervois Finland as well as RMI welcomes the submission of grievances as part of our continuous improvement and risk management program. To submit a grievance, please go to the RMI website here.

EcoVadis Assessment

As part of our commitment to society, people and the environment, Jervois Finland completed a thorough assessment of its business sustainability practices through EcoVadis, the global standard for business sustainability ratings. The EcoVadis assessment includes 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. In our first evaluation we have been awarded a Gold Medal, achieving a remarkable score of 77/100. This accomplishment places us within the top 2% of evaluated companies globally.  At Jervois Finland, we believe in transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. The EcoVadis assessment has not only acknowledged our current efforts but also serves as a catalyst for our ongoing commitment to enhancing sustainability across all aspects of our operations.
